Common Inquiries

Medical massage is outcome-based manual therapy. Unlike a spa massage designed primarily for relaxation, medical massage focuses on a specific clinical diagnosis or physical goal, such as recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, or improving range of motion.

Your first session begins with a brief intake assessment. Your therapist will review your medical history, discuss your specific areas of concern, and may perform a postural or range-of-motion check to customize the treatment to your needs.

While medical massage often involves deeper work on muscle tissue and trigger points, it should never be "unbearable." We focus on "productive discomfort"—the feeling of a knot being released—and we encourage constant communication to ensure the pressure is right for you.

Frequency depends on your specific condition. For acute issues, we may recommend weekly sessions for a short period. For chronic maintenance or stress management, many clients find that every 2 to 4 weeks is optimal for lasting relief.

You should undress to your level of comfort and you will be professionally draped with a sheet or blanket at all times.

This gentle technique stimulates the lymphatic system to remove metabolic waste and excess fluid. It is highly recommended for post-operative recovery (including cosmetic or orthopedic surgery), reducing swelling, and supporting immune health.

Deep tissue is excellent for chronic muscle tension, but it isn't always the best choice for acute injuries or certain medical conditions. Your therapist will assess your tissue health to determine if deep pressure or a more targeted trigger-point approach is better.

Absolutely. Many of our sessions are "Integrated," meaning we may combine elements of Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, and Stretching within a single hour to address your body’s unique needs.

No. The circular marks (petechiae) are caused by suction drawing stagnant blood and toxins to the surface. Unlike a bruise caused by trauma, these marks are usually painless and typically fade within 3 to 7 days.

We recommend arriving 5–10 minutes before your scheduled time. This allows you to settle in and complete any necessary intake forms without cutting into your treatment time.

You do not need to bring anything. We provide all professional-grade linens, hypoallergenic oils, and lotions.

Our studio is designed to be a calm, clinical, and sterile environment. We prioritize cleanliness and professional medical standards while maintaining a soothing atmosphere.

We strive to accommodate all clients. If you have specific mobility needs, please let us know when booking so we can ensure your arrival and session are seamless.

We provide mobile services within a specific radius of our clinic. Please check our booking page or contact us directly to see if your location is within our area.

Our therapist brings everything required. We only ask that you provide a quiet, cleared space and a comfortable room temperature.

We recommend keeping pets in a separate room and ensuring the space is free of distractions to help the body enter a healing state.

We require 24 hours' notice for any cancellations or changes. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a late-cancellation fee.

We are a "Direct Pay" clinic. While we do not bill insurance directly, we can provide a detailed Superbill for potential reimbursement from your provider.

In many cases, yes. Medical massage is often covered if it treats a specific condition. Check with your plan administrator for specific referral requirements.
